Short synopsis : England on the eve of the French Revolution. A young, poor, solitary woman carves a daring path through the ideals of the Enlightenment. Dismissed from her post as a governess, she resolves to live by her pen, against all odds. At 33, she publishes her inflammatory masterpiece, Vindication. Months later, she sets sail for France, arriving in Paris at the height of the Terror.
